Title: Prosine 2.5 replaced, to the dump or salvage value?
Post by: Fiddler on December 08, 2014, 09:13:54 am
Recently replaced my Xantrax Prosine 2.5 Inverter/Charger with a Magnum MS-2812.  The Prosine failed with a code 194, cause in the manual reads "Various.  There could be a fault inside the unit or the microprocessor is fooled by some external condition".  I tried all the restore procedures recommended and still no go.  I could not find any facility to repair the unit (including Xantrax);  so is there any value whatsoever to this unit?  The remote panel works fine,  I've got all the paperwork, manuals, battery temp sensor,  etc.

Fiddler,

I would be interested in the control head and wiring though a blown Prosine 2.5 is not worth attempting a repair.

If you have the ACS panel (the fancier LCD one) that has some value and would be worth putting in the classifieds.  I don't recall the price but have seen some on eBay.  You might check there for market value.  (ETA there's one there now for $140 starting bid, $210 buy it now)

At one point, Gary Omel was collecting failed Prosines and attempting to build working units out of pieces of failed ones.  You might ping him.
