Title: Leveling system and auxilliary compressor operation
Post by: BamaFan on December 13, 2014, 08:17:43 pm
When my coach is parked in storage, the leveling system starts the 12 volt compressor every 30 minutes in an attempt to level the coach. Since there is really no need to do all of this leveling when the coach is not in use, I would like to be able to turn the system off, but there seems to be no way to do that. I hate the idea of equipment running unnecessarily and would like to reduce the unnecessary wear on the compressor.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to turn off the leveling system or the compressor?

My HWH system has an OFF button.  I park, touch the upper left one, maybe the ON, touch it again, it levels, and then I can touch OFF.

Thanks Dave.

Then maybe the OFF button is malfunctioning so I need to check it out.

You have an air leak somewhere. You can install a switch in the line to the compressor and then turn it off to keep the compressor from running.

I believe the aux compressor keeps air in the slide bladders and also the leveling system when parked as well as our Zip Dee awning.  We had pulled the inline fuse located near the aux comp. to stop it as needed.  We also installed a simple on/off switch in that fuse line.  Our aux. comp usually comes on two to three times a day for anywhere from 1 min. to 3 mins.  We probably have a leak somewhere and will track it down someday.  Pull the fuse for now.  :D
