Love the search function........anyway to sort search results by date?

Yup, click "advanced search" below the text box (selecting Search from the menu bar) and change search order to "Most recent topics first".  You can also change it to search only certain boards, look only for certain member's posts on a topic, etc.

I cannot find an advanced search button; where is it hidden?

Ah, changes from the forum software update last year.....

Hover over "Community" on the menu bar (near the top of your screen) and click "Search".
