Title: Help in decoding a Foretravel Model number
Post by: OldManSax on January 04, 2015, 07:42:37 am
I hope I put this in the correct forum.

I am looking at a 1989 Grand Villa. I'm trying to find a floor plan along with any other original specs. Owner is very nice but not real knowledgeable on the specs. I looked at Barry Beams site but not a whole lot of info on this particular model.

The owner says the model number is GVF883D834000URED.

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks!

TOM

I think the last 4 letters are probably "ORED".  Try these links for possible leads:

Reading the Vehicle Identification Number (http://beamalarm.com/Documents/vehicle_identification_number.html)

1989 "U" model number help (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=19807.msg141411#msg141411)

@nitehawk (forum name) has a '89 ORED.  He will probably chime in.

@MR B2 (Brian in Australia) bought a '89 ORED.  Reading his long story may provide some clues:

I saw the info on reading the Vehicle Identification Number. I don't have the VIN, I only have the MODEL number.

I thought that the "U" in that number should be an "O" also and questioned the owner on it. He swears it's a "U".

I know it has a hallway on road side, bath curbside, island queen bed, 40' long with a Cat engine. It looks like bin doors are hinged on top from the pics but can't be sure of that.

If anyone has a floor plan, even something close, please post it.

Thanks!

Look at 1992 Foretravel U280 GV Floorplans (http://www.beamalarm.com/foretravel-links/models/1992-foretravel-u280-gv-floorplans.html)
The floor plan is an SAI - side aisle.
