I noticed this 1993 GV on Craigs List if anyone is interested.

Checking for a friend.
Is this 96" wide or 102" wide? (Narrow grille post - 96" wide)?
Oshkosh chassis - correct? What is the suspension on this chassis?
250 hp engine, correct?
Engine and tranny combination aren't in Barry's brochures for 1993...Maybe this is a custom build?

Don't see the 3060 Allison tranny on any of Barry's brochures for 1993. Would this mean tranny might have been replaced?

Unless the motor is yellow its a 5.9 cummins with a 643 four speed Allison trans

It appears to be 96" wide, the U240 only went wide in '95 if I recall.
I think it's a U240 due to the 6 speed 3060 transmission, but the "8.3 Cummins" mentioned in the add is something Barry's specs don't show and I haven't heard of in this model.  Normally a 5.9 Cummins (@230 hp) or a Cat 3116 (@250 hp).  I wonder if it's just a mistake in the add.  The '93 U280 comes with a 8.3 Cummins (@300 hp).  Even the '95 U240 has the Cat 3116 as the standard engine and not the Cummins 8.3

It is an ORED chassis (Oshkosh Rear Engine Diesel).

Thanks Brett.  Neither a U225 nor a U240 but an ORED.  The '92 spec for an ORED calls out a MT643 transmission - add says it's a 3060 6 speed.  Maybe that was added for the '93 model year?

Quite likely-- that was the introduction time for the MD3060 6 speed. I have seen other late 1992's with it as well as having one in our 1993.

No ored 8.3 cummins had six bolt wheels. Only oregs and 8.2 detroits.

The other six bolt coaches are the u225 and u240

If I remember right, think the o22c had a 5.9 cummins with a spring chassis, which was similar to the chassis with the 8.2 detroit

Please look at the link I posted above for the 1992:  Oshkosh 0-22C, Cummins C 8.3 liter. Move a year ahead and the Allison MD3060 is a real possibility.

I have seen/inspected other ORED's with 8.3 Cummins C

Brett...I'm guessing mine is the late 92 with the 3060 to which you refer.  Are you sure you aren't missing the U240?  Mine is for sale and even has the wolf mural on the back.
