Sign in on arrival ------- sign out on departure.
so we will know you are there, going to be there or have left already
Arrived 1/05/15 staying at Quail Run RV Park
Thought the sign in page was for those arriving at the rally dite st mm99.
Roland
It probably is Roland :))
This may be for those arriving or leaving the rally site at MM 99 but I just want to register that we are at the Plomosa Road area until the 21st. How long will people be at the MM 99 site? BTW, I saw another Foretravel when I drove past Rose's RV Park.
We will arrive in Q in about 30 min and will stay at the Quail Run RV park tonight and move to the Foretravel gathering site later this week. If anyone is already there please call my cell 817-648-1148.
John & Genni
Singing in just arrived at the rally site. A bit lonely, no one else here yet. Oops motorcade number 16343 is here, looks like no one home presently.
Roland
Roland, Can you post the GPS coordinates for your location?
Easy Peasy getting here once you turn off 95, just follow the Escapees signs we are just beyond them. GPS coordinates are N33 34.965 W114 13.874.
Roland
Roland, we will arrive tomorrow from Yuma, thanks for the coordinates.
Roland, we have not checked out the coordinates, but the Escapees are parking on the marginal road along side the Interstate. We are parking at the old Lemon location off at MM99 several miles south of town west of rt 95.
Barry, there is another group of Escapees here and they are parked just a bit above the Lemon Rally site. I am parked in the same spot that I was in at the last Lemon rally. Only other Forum member in the area is Phil from California has a U320.
Roland
I just got back home and see your GPS coordinates are where I figured we were gathering at. Cindy & I will see you there tomorrow.
We are at the Quartzite Gathering and there are now 5 coaches here. Can't wait for y'all to show up.
After turning west from route 95 onto the paved mile marker 99 road, drive through the dip in the pavement and turn right at the "Turn Coordinates", onto dirt, then immediately turn left, following tire tracks to "Park Coordinates". We did not see any signs.

Gayle and I will be heading to Q to hang out with the Lazy Daze group, arriving on the 16th. We are still looking for a Foretravel and wondered if anyone coming to Q might a have 36' they are thinking of selling.
We will likely be in Q until the 29th.
Jim
We arrive tomorrow and would like to meet some owners. Would you happen to have a happy hour or some other gathering where we could join you? If so what would be a good day? I suspect that we could not make tomorrow as the Lazy Daze group probably has a satanic ritual going on. >:D
Jim
I have a 38' that will be on the market when I can no longer get a driver's license, hopefully no time soon. Do you want the nickel tour or the dime tour.
I should be arriving around 4pm tomorrow.
Upon arrival, you should find a knot or two of FoFummers either standing in the middle of the runway or standing or seated at one of the beautiful Foretravel coaches. Just introduce yourself.
Involving "Andy on a Stick"? :giggle:
I'm a few hours away, hoping to arrive before the sun sets.
Who's there now?
We were delayed and now will arrive tomorrow (Sat) morning. Looking forward to seeing y'all!
We will be arriving on Sunday and are still in Mesa at 60 and Ellsworth at the Resort.
JohnH
The Savournins are here. The Speers are here. Tony Pasquale is here.
Ted Campbell and Karen Craven (Ted & Karen) are here.
I know this will sadden everyone (jest)
But........ I will be unable to attend this year
Due to mechanical difficulties.
I made it to 30 miles west of Van Horn.
I felt what I thought was cut out of one cylinder, looked in the mirror and saw the "dreaded WHITE SMOKE"
While keeping an eye on the white smoke and looking for a place to turn off, I felt a shuddering of eminent complete engine failure.
The engine was not answering the throttle. Had full throttle to get off the road (IH10)
When I finely got stopped, the white smoke disappeared, the vibration also stopped.
I shut down the engine and went to the rear.
There in all dying throes, was my smoking toad. with out a left right wheel and tire, and brake assembly
C U all next year, going home to clean up my undies.
ps I just has my brakes new linings, and rear oil seals replaced 6 days ago ( JUST BRAKES in Arlington, TX)
Bill, are you saying your coach is ok and the problem is your toad's wheel is GONE... Sorry to learn you had a serious problem heading to Arizona. You are missed.
Gaylie and I have been bummed all day after talking to Jo. Everyone will miss you guys. We are now broiling what were to be your rib-eyes and Gaylie just opened the 7 Deadly Zins.
Was just talking to Kent about two very similar incidents we had.
Arrived Q at 4:30.
Wish we could have air lifted your truck here.
Pierce and Gaylie
Bill, just leave the car and keep coming! (Just kidding) ;D
yes I second that but if your coach is ok can you not park it and still come and deal with it after as you are so close. Ruth and I want to see you again but understand your situation if not able to do it.
JohnH
I am here
I am about 17 miles short . Limped into Brenda and the Black Rock CG . Will make a visit in my toad . Wanted to get there but---- Brad Metzger
Well Bill, Tys and I will sure miss you an Jo! I am still in the throws of a pretty major electrical redo... at this point, I can't be sure that we will make it either. But I haven't given up yet! We were really looking forward to seeing you guys this year. Last years fond memories around the campfire is what I think of when I sometimes wonder why I bother to do all this work on our coach. Last years "Q" gathering is what it is all about for us... good company, good weather, and wide open spaces. We will take your rain check for next year!
Don
Bill, Dang! But we're glad you're ok, even though your toad is toast.😫 We were looking forward to seeing you and Jo again. We enjoyed meeting you both at the Ladies Driving School.
Deb & Mike
Bill- sorry we won't see you but glad you and Jo are ok.
Cya down the road
Ted & Karen
Bill,
Sorry to hear about your mishap and not making it to Quartzsite but glad you an Jo are okay.
Have you determined the cause? Blowout, wheel bearing, etc? I replaced both front wheel bearings on my toad (95 Suzuki Sidekick) at 110000 miles (60000 towed miles) when I re-did the front brakes. One of them was making a grinding noise so I replaced them both.
I believe towing with a towbar can cause early wear on the front bearings and they should be checked periodically along with the brakes and and other front end parts. Maybe other members have had a similar experience and can weigh in.
Jerry
Dori and I made it in today. Quite a gathering. Had about 20 people around the campfire tonight. Lots of Grand Villa's here!
see ya
ken
Nancy and I made it in today too!
Bill - so sorry you and Jo aren't going to make it this year!
Maybe leave the toad and come on over?
We will be leaving the Blythe Bluegrass Festival and heading over to Q after lunch. Sorry we will miss you again Bill.
The West Texas representatives have arrived at the gathering! Photos will follow (as soon as we get settled). More beautiful GV's here than we have ever seen - the early 90's group is well-represented.
Please supply pictures and stories from Q.
I enjoyed a few days in the desert last year and hoped to bring Marilyn with me this year. We won't be there this year, but maybe next year. M is scheduled for a defib procedure on Wednesday. We are hoping her "ticker" gets back on a regular, strong rhythm so she will be able to enjoy some Foretraveling.
We left early from Rice Ranch to join in on the fun, Got here sunday and have been having a ball putting faces to names. Stories and twiggs jokes keeps us laughing. What a great bunch of outlaws 8) ^.^d
Tom Lang set of some wishing lanterns, he got them on sale.
I think he got some duds because my wish for more bandwidth out here has been ignored.
So these are the only photos I can get thru. ::)
Brad Metzger did find time to come out and visit us at Quartzite. He brought his new toy to show off for us. Dori & I along with Tony went for a ride out in the desert to an old gold mine. Wow was that fun! :)

Tys & I will be heading out there tomorrow... finished (mostly ::) ) with the inverter/electrical panel instal & DC breaker panel relocation. The aux compressor will have to wait (unless we want to make it a group project/experiment to play with the new ARB compressor :D ).
I put on a new PC215L Vip Smartwheel and have a working old BK series in working condition. Some of the center cap graphics are faded, but the leather on the wheel seems in excellent shape. Free for the asking if anybody at the "Q" wants it or knows somebody who needs it. Picture of the SmartWheel below;
Brad,
Maybe you should drive that ATV and pull the Foretravel. May work better with our luck lately! ;D
I just posted some photos on the other "Q 2015?" thread:
Which is where?
best, paul
Quartzsite 2015? (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=22408.msg184796;topicseen#new)
I probably should have put them in this thread - perhaps @Michelle can move them if that would be better??
@Steve Brad said there was a story behind the "flag bling". He didn't tell us what it was... :) Maybe he'll tell it here if we call him out...

John & Genni checking out of Q. Heading back to Texas. Such a pleasure meeting all the great Foretravel folks at Quartzsite! We had a wonderful time! See you down the road.
Gaylie & Pierce checking out of "Q" on the way to Puerto Penasco. Had a great time with amigos old and new. Hope to see some of you before next year's rendezvous!
Gaylie & Pierce
John & Genni, Pierce & Gaylie,
Sorry we will miss you this trip... John, say hi to Bill C. for me when you guys get back to Texas. Don't take take all the fun with you guys when you leave! We will bring what fun we can with us, but I hope there will still be some left there at the "Q" when we get there this afternoon! :D
Don & Tys
Pierce & Gaylie and John & Genni,
We enjoyed spending time with you all, but never enough, and we look forward to meeting up with you.
Thanks for letting us know you are headed out to your next adventure.
Safe journey,
Barry & Cindy
@acousticart It's a little windy here today - blowing out of the north at 20-30 - just in case you want to consider that when picking your parking spot. Our "street" runs kinda east-west, so the south side of the street gets the dust kicked up by passing vehicles.
OTHERWISE, it's a beautiful day here, and we're looking forward to saying Hi to you guys again. Drive Safe!
It appears we were overly optimistic about leaving San Diego by 11 this morning....still working on getting things packed up. The new plan is to find a place to overnight along the way and head for the Q in the morning since trying to find the spot in the dark tonight doesn't appeal to us much. :-[
Looking forward to seeing everyone who's still there tomorrow!
Tys and Don
Thank you everyone for the the kind words. We enjoyed ourselves so much from the informal "tech" get togethers to the fire ring conversation and jokes.
We had a easy, five hour drive to Puerto Penasco today and just finished a great fish taco dinner with a small pitcher of margueritas (happy hour, $6) listening to "Lost in Love" at this very romantic restaurant.
For those returning via the east route, diesel was $2.49 cash at the Tonopah exit.
Just made a special toast to Bill and Jo. Sure the luck of the Irish will return to them soon.
Pierce and Gaylie
Well we left this morning and made it all the way to Flag 8), I decided to stop in flag an go ahead and land in a park for the night and get a early start in the morning. Just after 6 pm Eileen was taking Katie for a short walk on her way back she triped and fell and hurt her elbow, packed it with ice and was not helping. So I took to the ER here in Flagstaff and got her looked at. Nothing was broken however she is in a lot of pain. So now she has a sling and a arm sleve. We will contuinue our trip in the morning. We really had a great time at the Q and we never felt more welcome. Thanks to all we met and swapped a few stories. Katie would loke to thank Trip and Coda for making her fell welcome as well. Safe travels to you all.
Andy so sorry to hear about Eileen's elbow! Hope it is nothing serious and it heals quickly.
We made pretty pretty good time till we hit I-10 and had a flat on the trailer but having a well prepared driver it was only a short 30 min stop to put on the spare....guess we experienced that I-10 curse.
Don & Tys hope you have a great time....sorry we missed seeing you too.
Well the I-10 curse continues. This is our view of I-10 this morning at 7:30 just out of Deming NM. Enjoy that warm weather at Q!
John and GennI...won't forget Campfire 101, Movie Trivia and much laughter. See you when we get back to Texas.
Yikes! Just saw your Deming post. Be careful!!
Andy & Eileen...ouch! Hope the elbow-healing comes soon. Enjoyed meeting and laughing with you around the campfire.
Pierce, Gaylie .....such good neighbors. Thanks for your help and advice. Give Koda some extra petting from us, and have fun in Mexico.
Deb and Mike
The weather worsens. I-10 west bound between Deming and Las Cruces has been a parking lot for the last 45 min. I think they are clearing a wreck ahead. Sure wish we were at Q with all the good company and 70 degrees instead!
John: Try to stay out of the ditch! Don't want you to scratch up your shiny paint!
We're checking out of Q this morning. At least we're smart enough to go West, instead of East following The Kerbs. We'll spend a few days in sunny Ventura, CA visiting relatives, before we head back home to Midland, TX.
Thanks to all for making us feel welcome at our first Q. One of the many great things about this group is how they take you in and make you feel like one of the family. Hope to see many of you again somewhere down the road.
Don & Tys: We were sorry to have missed you on this trip; we were really hoping to see you.
It was fun to catch up the people we met at FOT and enjoyed meeting new people at Q. Love Foretraveling. Hope to see you all here next year (Bill & Jo too).
We made it! Pulled into the Q unrally an hour or two ago...been catching up with old and new friends. Very sad that so many we'd hoped to see apparently pulled out this morning. :( Hopefully we will be able to get here sooner next year...
Safe travels to all of you on the road today!
Tys and Don
I'm sorry to have missed you also.
Consider implementing my plan for next year. I have my name on the waiting list for Quail Run, the entire month of January. Lots of Foretravels there. Pay for the months, and two weeks are essentially free. I plan to leave for a few days to a week at a time to be at the fun site, then go back to dump/fill/recharge and take a long shower.
John & Genni...Hoping you are safely out of the snow. Please let us know.
We got here late Thursday afternoon.
Kent, Ken, Tom, Pierce....sorry we missed you this year.
Already met some new folks. Enjoying the visit!
Signing out. Had a great time with everyone. Headed for Lake Havasu. Hope to see y'all down the road....or next year at Q.
Den and Mike
DebandMike we spent the night in Van Horn TX. We were only able to travel 250 miles. It was getting close to dark and we did not want to travel in the dark while it was snowing. We stayed in a real nice RV park called Mountian Valley in Van Horn. We got a late start this AM to allow the snow/ice to melt. Roads are dry but as u can see from the picture still quite a bit of snow on the ground. Sky's are clear and sun is shinning so snow should mostly met today. Safe travels to you guys!
Well we made it home Friday night, we decided to stay to the west into utah and up through wyoming we had good roads and sunny weather. The weather to the east was not to our liking. Thanks again to all the great folks we met and friends we made. Looking forward to meeting up again.
We pulled in this afternoon from Phoenix; we managed to avoid the I-10 hex (if you don't count a screwed up tire). We met a few FF folks this afternoon and hope to meet a few tomorrow before we press on to California.
WE signed out today and now are in Thousand Trails- Palm Desert, CA. We enjoyed our 13 days at Q with all of our friends.
Hope to see you all again down the road , maybe before Q next year.
We saw your friend Alfie, Twig.
Take care
Ted & Karen
Enjoyed all of our time together Ted & Karen. Hope to see you down the road.
We are settled in Yuma for a couple of weeks, and our generator repair has been started.
Signed out of "Quartzsite" this afternoon after a wonderful first time in desert! Enjoyed spending time with friends and meeting new friends and forum members for first time. I tried to absorb as much information as discussed as I possibly could, actually as much as my tired old brain could understand and retain!
Enjoyed working with and a big thanks to Barry for helping me install the 12V cigarette lighter outlet in the bedroom to use with CPAP machine.
Made it into Phoenix/Mesa safely but unfortunately put the wrong address in my GPS so I travelled an additional 60 miles, 30 North & 30 South on 101 during rush hour traffic before arriving at campground in Mesa >:(
Barry & Cindy- had a great time with you. ;D
Hope the generator repairs go well.
Tony- glad you made it to Mesa. The extra 60 miles are not near as bad as having to drive in "rush hour". Hope to cya down the road.
Ted & Karen
We are back home in Tucson and unpacked, after a stop at Cocopah Golf & RV Park in Yuma (nice, once you actually find it!) and then the Quechuan Casino parking lot. Thanks to Kent Speers for an interesting drive from Yuma to Winterhaven that took over an hour and involved dirt roads and the Border Patrol ... 'nother story for the campfire. Dental visits and shopping in Los Algodones have been accomplished and continue to be top notch. We had a very fine time in Q this year. I was excited to go back ... next year we plan to follow some folks into Mexico for a tutorial and short stay. It just gets better and better!! So happy to have made some new friends! Happy to have seen the old ones and learned some new stuff. Have a good Winter, everyone!!
I guess you know I have to chime in on this little tidbit. Between the two couples we have four qualified drivers of our coaches but someone decided to follow a driver suffering from severe back pain that had been to the ER and on pain killers (not that morning) to lead the parade. If we had been going East as I though instead of South directly toward Mexico I doubt that the Border Patrol would have even gotten involved. I was a little curious why the highway turned into a dirt road but hey, its S. Arizona.
Oh well, like Carol said this can be discussed around the campfire in Q next year if your interested in the details. Otherwise we will say no more.
Thanks for the laugh Tony, those darn GPS units... But it does remind us when years ago, we pulled into a truck stop and when leaving turned the wrong way on the highway and after a while the scenery started to look familiar.
Enjoy Mesa, check out West World in Scottsdale.
We sure enjoyed being your neighbor and spending time with you, and we thank you for your secret campground electric outlet.
Otherwise we will say no more.
Kent has to have 4 GPS units running at the same time.. Then, he doesn't pay any attention to any of them... :D :D :D :D
If the GPS units are so smart, why don't they drive.
Remember, you followed me the whole way.
They were probably afraid you would get lost.........Oh but it sounds like you were.
Roland
Link goes to a Picasa photo album of our trip to Quartzsite. Down Highway 395, Quartzsite, Puerto Penasco, Lake Havasu and finally, June Lake. Hope all coaches are back on the road now and in good shape.
Palm Canyon is down 95 13 miles from our Quartzsite campsite and then left for 5 miles. Turn is marked on the highway.
https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/100921130470085833749/albums/6110293676001340593 Lots of fun memories!
Pierce
@Pierce Thanks for the pics!
You mean to tell me that you drove 13 + 5 miles and hiked 1/2 a mile to Palm Canyon and didn't take any pictures of the palms??? Or are you trying to pass off that cactus as a palm tree? :)
see ya
ken
I wish to state for the record that I had a detailed conversation with one K Speers before setting out on our 15 mile transfer from Cocopah to Quechan (only about 5 miles as the crow flies, but you have to go east to go west in Yuma) and we reviewed the step by step route on his GPS. If he was drug addled, he was hiding it well, and even told me that he was familiar with the turns, having taken them on an earlier drive. Just a warning to you all!!! You just never know when Speers is over medicated ... he hides it well!!! Wiley sonofagun, to be sure ......
I'm sure he was hiding it well, well enough the border patrol couldn't find it. Tell us more about the earlier drives. How many were there? I smell mules here.
Pierce
I would come to this next year... If an an early 30's family is alllowed ;)
No one is or has been excluded to my knowledge, gosh even had SOB's.
Roland
We have very few "rules". In fact ... I can't think of ANY, beyond ordinary politeness. If you are in your early 30s, we may use our elderly wiles to trick you into performing acts of labor or strength that our decrepit selves can't manage ... like assisting the "Technical Support Crew" and fixing something that requires bendability!!
And we might put the kids to work launching sky lanterns.
I'll do anything except change tag axle air bags! :o
We will see you next January with our punch list! You are officially part of the Technical Support Team!!!
I'm in my early 30's, mentally, I just look old.
All,
My wife and I bought a house and had to remodel prior to moving in so we decided not to go to Q this time, probably not a good decision as we're getting the "contractor shuffle" (very common in East Texas when a.) it's hunting season, b.) the fish are biting, c.) too cold, d.) too hot, you get the picture). Would like to put our name on the list for next year for sure. Best regards, Mark and Judy Blain.
I'm around 16-18 mentally 8)
We're just kids with arthritis...
Gone, gone, gone and gone. We left the Quartzite gathering area, there are no more Foretravels left in the area.
Roland
Maybe gone, but not ALL gone, just not all here. Got back to Q today after a week in Death Valley. Almost a ghost town .
