We were talking to a friend today that works for Cummins and the subject of coolant info came up. He gave us this site that may clear up some of the questions that come up over different types of antifreeze. Hope this may help someone.

Thanks for posting. I had found that elsewhere, last month, when I was trying to figure out what do buy. The valve (by low point plumbing drains) marked "Close for Max dash heat" had leaked pink stuff. In the process of replacing the valve, quite a bit more was lost. I say "pink stuff". But, it seems that a number of coolant formulations vary only by subtle shade differences.
Actually, the older "low silicate for diesel with added SCA" coolants are VERY different than the newer generation OAT-based coolants.
Knowing which you have and properly caring for it will save you a LOT of money in the long run.
We have been using blue Cummins ES Compleat for many years, changing about every 3-4 years or so.
Have not had DCA out of balance since changing to ES Compleat.
I have been using the Rotella ELC for several years..Shell bought Texaco and I was told by a Shell rep. that this is the correct substitution for the Texaco. With that said, the ES compleat should work well too.
So, how do you identify what your coach is equipped with ?
Our '03 had a sticker in the engine compartment (likely on black metal tank, coach is in storage so I can't check) and I believe something in the owner's manual. OEM was Texaco ELC, now Rotella ELC. Change interval is approximately 6 years. Genset will have same.
Tractor Supply sells Shell Rotella ELC concentrate.
NAPA sells both the concentrate and the pre mixed ELC
Mine was exactly the same. When I replaced the radiator I put in ES compleat.
I did not make myself clear regarding 'pink stuff'. While there are several very different products, I was not at all sure what it was that had leaked. It was sort-of pink, certainly not green, as I am accustomed to seeing in automobiles. Maybe it was red. To top off the system, I think the two gallons I bought, at some chain auto parts store, were the FLEET CHARGE. This is for an ISC350.
Fleet Charge is a "regular low silicate for diesels with added SCA" coolant.
Totally different chemistry than the OAT-based coolants.
