Title: Winn 200200 Removed
Post by: sk320 on January 13, 2015, 10:00:59 pm
After doing some reading on the forum I have been going over my new to me coach.

Under the Belt and Filter section in the manual it says Primary Fuel Filter  ``Winn 200200`` which has a hand written line through and "Removed" written beside it.  After looking around the M11 I can only find the Secondary FS1001 10 micron filter.

Can this be safe to run without a primary filter?

I have been all over the coach the only other diesel filters I can find are the Aqua Hot filter and the Gen set filter.

I believe the Winn would have been mounted on the right between engine and radiator area. Nothing there....

Steve,

10 micron is fine for a primary fuel filter, but 2-5 are what you want for the secondary one.

But, if you now only have ONE fuel filter, it needs to be a fine one-- 2-5 micron.

If the primary was removed and plumbing connection used to take its place,  I would sure look at installing a new primary in that location and then changing the secondary to a 2-5 micron element.

Cummins can give you their spec for your engine's filtration requirement (in terms of required micron rating).

not sure if your 2001 requires a prime pump/filter setup like my 97.

replaced the winn with a parker 790/60 filter.

replacing the r60p 30 micron first filter next change with a parker r125p larger capacity element.

was an oem from Monaco back when.

it has a 12v boost pump.  your engine may or may not need this.

My 99 U320 recommends FS2000 fuel filter for the secondary which is 10 micron.
