We have the wood reading lights under the overhead cabinets above the couch, the opposite side by the lift-up table, and up front map lights. They are wood exterior and base, with a somewhat dull metal inside reflector. The lights swivel and utilize a 194 base. I have tried a couple different LED bulbs but illumination is inadequate for reading. (about 180). Actually not much better than the original automotive type bulbs.
Anyone found better? Or changed light fixtures completely with something that covers the mounting holes and has built-in switch?
We do like the looks of the fixtures for our age coach. What about a more reflective surface inside?
my heart there are all kinds on many different sides here's one on ebay that we used good luck.. led too

OK John,
So... how did you get the old bulb out of the socket?? It just spins???

Try this? Go to Super Brite LED web site and search on 194. They have a 300 lumens version. Paint inside of shade matte white. If that does not work you could stick some of the LED strips in the shade. That will make it as bright as you want.
Posted to an old thread as there was no answer at the time for a brighter bulb.

Thanks Keith & Joyce. Will check it out. Right now my enthusiasm for our coach is at a bit of a low, due to the engine issue.
