This shop was recommended to me for front end and whole coach alignment. Does anyone have any experience with this shop?
If you are that close, why not use the Foretravel chassis shop? I have had mine done there, Wayne does a good job and it was not expensive.
The Big Truck Alignment in Huntington, 9 miles south of the Lufkin loop on HWY 69 is the shop that trained Wayne. I have excellent service from them and would go there, period. Learned about them from James Stallings.
They align big trucks with solid front axles. So do not take a newer IFS to them.
Another endorsement for Big Truck Alignment. Have them true your front tires too.
jor
they have a cutting/truing machine still?
Yes Bob. These folks are a cut above at the job of big truck alignment.
Thanks Rudy, good to know!
Thanks Guys for the recommendations.
X 3 or 4 on Big Truck Alignment shop in Lufkin.
I've had our coach aligned twice at FOT and once at Big Truck Alignment. I was pleased with the improvements made by Wayne at FOT. My current preference is Big Truck Alignment.
The "Haskins boys" at BTA removed the steer tires and rendered them round with their truing machine. They performed a static balance. I use Centramatic balancers for dynamic balancing during travel. I watched as they did all the work. They tweaked the centering of the steering wheel to my satisfaction with my input. They looked at the condition of the tires and recommended that I increase tire pressure compared to what I had been running. I had been running very close to Michelin recommended pressures.
Wayne has always recommended to me that I use pressures lower than published Michelin tables. He provided a copy of a table that he said was from a Michelin representative. The pressures looked too low to me. I've been pleased with the handling at the higher pressures recommended by BTA.
As always, your results and preferences ... and mileage ... may vary.
