Had to have the ignition coil changed on my Onan generator in 2011. It has been slower to turn over ever since and finally wouldn't start on my monthly exercising this week. Took it to the Onan dealer (Cummins) who've always been straight up in previous dealings. They are telling me there is an ignition solenoid issue and that they have to remove the generator. I am taking the opportunity to reinsulate the compartment and replace the mounts for less vibration inside the coach but I'm wondering if this should be necessary.
Had to have our generator worked on earlier last year. The propane fuel system was all gummed up. Our guy is supposed to be a top notch, certified, bonified, expert on all Onan's. Will not use any thing except expensive Onan parts. Anyway, first words out of his mouth "bring in over, we'll pull it out and you can come back in xx days and we'll put in back in" !
Even tho in slides out a little ways, there is just a whole lot of 'stuff' you can't get to.
That's my story. Don't know where your troubled part is located.
We don't use it alot but wouldn't want to be with out it.
Good Luck................~Johnnie~............. :)
