Put in a new Sharp microwave-convection yesterday. The other one was working fine but we were putting in a backsplash and decided to get ahead of the couldquitanytime 20 year old unit. Anyhow, we decided on the Sharp after reading a number of posts. One of those posts was by Barry and Cindy. They mentioned that, in order to avoid getting a damaged unit, they bought theirs in the store. Blissfully ignoring this great advice, we bought one online. On the appointed day, UPS showed up with that nice new oven. The box didn't look good. The microwave looked worse. All dented up. Boxed it back up and headed down to Home Depot. Took awhile but got another one ordered at a pretty good discount. They called up a week or so later and off we went back down to Home Depot. They retrieved the box but this one wasn't looking too good either. Opened it up and sure enough, it too was damaged. Ordered a third one with another discount and a $50 gift card along with the promise that they would inspect it at the point of origin and double pack it. Got a call a week later and back we went. This time the box looked good (no double pack however) and the unit was undamaged. The lesson here is: Just follow Barry & Cindy's advice!
