Title: Any Fortravel owners in western NC?
Post by: Jeff & Sandy on January 31, 2015, 04:38:13 pm
Hello all,

We are starting our quest and I was wondering if there are any FT owners in this part of the country. If there are I was curious where you get your coach worked on?

I'm pretty handy around the house but have no auto/mechanical skills at all.

Thanks all,

Jeff in Boone, NC

I am in VA but I get my coach worked on at Cummins in Cloverdale VA or in TX at MOT or the factory or at TN RV in Knoxville.  I have had work done on the chassis at cummins across the country as well.

Jeff, I second John's suggestion of Tennessee RV in Knoxville, just 160 miles from you all...I'll keep my coach in Hendersonville for the summer & if anything goes wrong, that's where I'll head.  They have a lot of FT knowledge and techs used to working on FT's. I think the owner (Roger Sellers) may also still own a FT.

They used to be the factory store for FT before they went to only the TX location

HI Jeff,
Tenn RV can fix anything Foretravel.
Be prepared to pay the what seems to be normal?  Blah... :o  $115 per hour charge for labor.      Tracking/tracing problems any oddities are the real time killer.  When your RV Tech isn't learning about foretravel on your dime saves you in the long run.    .........................

Thanks all! I really appreciate it. There is hope! It sounds like I have multiple options within a few hours drive.

I'm seriously considering Jimmy Freytag's coach.

That is a nice coach and I know he took good care of it.

Jeff. I'll add my 2 cents worth to TN RV. I bought my first Three Foretravels from Foretravel of Tennessee (the predecessor of TN RV). I have had service there regularly ever since. Occasional trips to FOT as well as MOT and Extreme. Make sure that you get one of the Foretravel techs. They have a fine body shop as well. No, they ain't cheap but not as expensive as Parliament and some other shops and last I heard they were still giving the Motorcade 10% discount.
