I have a box in the entertainment cabinet, label says NAS SCD-1W4. Has several coax cables running to and/or from it. Any suggestion as to what it does, is it good at what it does, do I need it ? I don't believe I've used it....yet.
Quick search says it is probably a satellite signal splitter. Search on NAS SCD-1W4
Google knows all.
Googling NAS SCD-1W4 shows you are not alone...
Here is the first answer...
What is a NAS SCD-1UT2 - iRV2 Forums (http://www.irv2.com/forums/f53/what-is-a-nas-scd-1ut2-82960.html)
Since I use a Carryout, sounds like it is a space holder....for something.
Thanks!

DESCRIPTION: Satellite Customer device with single 5-2025 MHz Input & quad IRD Outputs
Looks like it was used with King-Dome and others that had a single coax going to a dome with multiple LNB's. This unit would then split those LNB's out so you could attach multiple receivers (or to single receivers that multiple tuners).
Google "satellite multiswitch" as thats what it sounds like to me.
