Post by: Michelle on February 11, 2015, 09:10:52 am
One of our members let me know of Dane Miller's passing.  I don't know how much direct involvement he's had in Foretravel recently, but wanted to let folks know

Hate to see such a young man pass, he must have been a real mover and shaker.

I had the privilege to meet Dane on two occasions at Texas Motor Speedway, courtesy of John McGee and the Motor Sports Chapter of Motorcade. He and his wife Mary Louise were very gracious, down to earth and excellent listeners. Dane's love of FT provided the equity infusion for FT to avoid bankruptcy and probable liquidation. We all owe him a debt of gratitude and appreciation for keeping our brand afloat.

This might explain to a certain degree Dane's divestiture last year of much of his BioMet holdings, and the closing of the Mary Lou Racing NASCAR team. It also might explain the leadership change at FT and the renewed focus on operating results and some of the removal of discounts, etc.

Just a quick thought.  69 is pretty  young, and you can't buy health. Live every day in gratitude of good health and never take the future as we think it will turn out for granted.

Thanks Dane!

His estate and how it is structured will make a difference I would think for FT. I wonder what the outcome will be.
