Title: Duo Therm Control Question
Post by: Kevin on February 27, 2015, 06:28:46 pm
Good Evening!  Just set up for the weekend and when I select Heat Strip  on the DuoTherm control panel the furnace turns on instead of the a/c units on both zone 1 and zone 2.

Thoughts / suggestions on troubleshooting issue?

Thanks in advance, fortunately the furnace is working, however hooked up this evening and would like to use the heat strip.

Hi Kevin,

It could be something as simple as a burned out fuse, corroded connections or the thermostat has had its brain scrambled. For the latter you should try the thermostat reset procedure.

Flaky button switches can confuse the chips inside or keep you from selecting what you want....are you able to get it to display "heat strip" for that zone?

You might call me with more details:  308-440-5154.

Thanks.  Yes, it does display heat strip for both zones, however the furnace turns on in both zones.  Appreciate the ideas..........how do I reset the thermostat?  Thanks so much.

Dometic 4 button reset procedure:

1  Connect the phone type cable to the back of the thermostat and turn on the power switch.
2  If possible, set the heat and cool (each) to 70 degrees on the display, then shut unit off and on again.
3  Depress and release the mode switch - the display light should come on.
4  Depress and hold down together the two bottom buttons (up and down).
5  While still holding the two bottom switches add the third button from the bottom (mode button).
6  Release the mode button first.

7  Then release the two bottom buttons (up and down) together.
8  Depress the mode button momentarily. The display light should go off.  If not, repeat steps 1 - 8 This reset procedure programs your thermostat to your RV's systems and temporarily displays the default settings of 68F for the heating and 72F for the cooling.  Look for this as proof of a successful reset. Test all these functions on your RV - expect the usual 3 minute delay for the A/C and heat strip compressor.
I hope this works to solve your concern.
