Title: Transmission Fluid fill point
Post by: Rich Bowman on March 08, 2015, 03:37:35 pm
Quick question.  Can somebody please tell me where the fill point is for the transmission fluid?  I'd like to take a fluid sample and the dip stick tube is too long to run a hose down.

Coach is still sitting in melting snow so it is hard to crawl around underneath to look.

Thanks,

Rich

I filled through the dipstick hole.  If you're in a jam you could take the drain plug out, catch some fluid and put it back before it all drains and then replace what was drained.  I'd expect a mess if you attempted that.

Run a 3/8 tube down the fill tube and suck it out that way. I use one of those drill motor pumps, but just use it quick enough to fill the tube as you do not want to have any mix of other liquids if this has been used before. Use a NEW piece of tubing too.

Thanks, looks like I'll need to get a longer piece of tubing.

Use ice machine water supply tubing.

Yes, a longer tube is the answer.  Cut the end at 45 degrees.  My sampling pump does the job without a problem.
