Title: Helper Springs Installation
Post by: Duane Budd on March 12, 2015, 12:15:24 pm
Can anyone tell me what the specifications are for the bolt which screws into the slide pin to allow pulling the slide pin out?

I tried to add a picture, but could not figure out how to do it.

I believe that the tapped hole in the slide pin is a 1/4 X20 thread which is pretty common. You can also use a soft nose punch like a brass drift to drive it out.  BUT....... Make sure you have released the keeper before you try to move the pin.

Sorry, you're going to have to be more clear about what specifications you are looking for.  If you haven't downloaded the service manual from Barry's site, you should go do it now.

Duane, Sorry, I misread your question.  The answer I gave applies to the slide pin, and you asked about the retainer bolt for the pin.  Barry's site has a complete manual as stated on the Meritor Air Disc Brakes.

Assuming that you are talking about the Meritor helper springs and the slide pins, the thread in the end of the slide pin is 3/8-16
