While at the Midsouth I could not get DirectTV. Had to watch their cable. :( Back home now I get "Ant Com Error". Has this 02 dome bit the dust or what?? Anybody have any ideas? DAN
Dan,
An Antenna Comm Error means that the 24VDC signal from the power supply is not being received at the CPU in the antenna on the roof. The Tracstar manual has a troubleshooting section that describes the procedures that can be taken to determine the problem.

Larry: Tks will look it up DAN
No mention in manual about "Ant Com Error" . Called Tracstar in Florida and they do not support the SV360. Gave me Will @ 352-274-4507. Will was not surprised and ask that I take the dome cover off and check with a voltage meter for 24 volts dc at the connector. Working on doing that now. DAN
Dan,
Google "Tracstar SC360 Manual." You can then download the Tracstar SV360 Technical Manual in PDF format from RVSatellite.com. The technical manual will provide a troubleshooting guide for the Ant Com Error. Checking for 24VDC at the antenna connector is one of the steps in the troubleshooting guide.

Dan,
There is a guy in Willis, Texas that works on Tracstar. It is Sats2Go and the number is 281-564-2828. Don Allen, who was with us at the MidSouth Rally, recently had Sats2Go remove his Tracstar and install another brand.

Larry: Tks for the info. What brand did you go to and approx cost if you don't mine? DAN
Dan,
I still am using the Tracstar. It was Don Allen who removed his Tracstar. I believe he went with the KVH dome antenna. I believe most who replace the Tracstar are going with the Winegard Trav'ler. The Winegard is not an in-motion antenna, but will receive HDTV from DirectTv. The in-motion dome antennas will not receive HDTV from DirectTv, but will receive HDTV from Dish.
My Tracstar is the latest version and will receive Dish HDTV from satellite 129.

Larry I enjoy the TRacStar if I can keep it going. Has worked well in different parts of the country and I like the in motion feature.
Hope to find out what is wrong with it maybe something simple. Tks for the help. Apparently not a lot of folks who know how to work on these things. DAN
Dan, I am bumping this thread to ask what the solution was to your Tracstar problem?
