In December of 2010 I bought a 1994 U-240 before I realized the importance of a few features the U-240 lacked. We finally realized that no matter how many upgrades we made, it would never be a widebody, and would never have a diesel generator, retarder, or airbag suspension. After many false starts and much soul searching, we just traded it at MOT for a 1997 40' U-320.
I am very pleased by the experience of dealing with the entire staff at MOT. My main dealings were with Stewart and Jason, but I also interfaced with about a half dozen others, all of whom treated me as though I were buying an IH-45 instead of an 18 year-old coach. MOT went through the coach making sure that everything (with one exception so far) worked. They also installed all new batteries, both chassis and house, and did a complete service on all fluids and the air dryer.
This coach has no slide, and this previously had been a sticking point with my wife. This is the first non-slide coach she really liked. Matter of fact, she liked it more than a very clean single-slide 2001 U-320 parked next to it. The stacked washer and dryer were big selling points for her. Also, this thing has a TON of storage, both inside and in the bays. We'll never fill up all the storage compartments.
Both Don Hay and Michael Harboldt (whom I met at MOT while tire kicking) told me that the difference in ride quality from the U-240 to the U-320 would be unbelievable. They were wrong. The difference is MORE than unbelievable. I actually laughed out loud once on the way home with the coach.
My friends can't believe that this coach is old enough to legally buy beer in Louisiana. It has been well loved by the previous owners, and has had several upgrades over the years including headlights, tail-lights, entry steps, Level 2 paint, floors, televisions, and several more appearance mods. The only major thing for me to do is replace the 8 year-old tires, and probably install a residential fridge. I understand that I'll probably come across a few unexpected expenses with an older coach, but I think I went into this with my eyes wide open.
I'll be asking questions about how to operate the thingamajigs and where switches are located very soon.
Thanks in advance,
Glen

Congrats, that is a great looking coach!
We bought our U320 last year. When we test drove it my wife looked at me and said, "We ARE buying this one". She hated the rocking and swaying of the old sob. Again, congrats and I'm sure you'll be very happy with your decision.
So glad it worked out for you! That's a really nice coach you got. ^.^d
Congratulations!

Famous last words, aren't they ;)
Yes, that is what we thought when we went from a 240 to the 320. Time will tell, give us a report a year from now. Congrats on the new coach.
