Title: Need suggestions for leaving Nac
Post by: iwanttorv2 on April 02, 2015, 10:00:35 am
We just purchased a new to us FT and need a recommendation on route to I-10 from Nac.
Also camping recommendations along I -10.
We are leaving Nac tomorrow morning and heading home to FL.
Will post our experiences and thank yous to the wonderful FT people that have helped us with this purchase. Many thanks to Tim Fiedler! Without him, we would never have found this coach in WI.
Thank you all,
Sue n Jim

I will say since it is new to you and driving it, I would take 59 south to Lufkin and take 69 to  287 I think.  That will let you avoid Houston traffic. I have not stayed on may I10 campgrounds as I usually take 20 across.

You might check out: Best way to NAC (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=24163.0) for some ideas

Also you could try pming 4stakes (from the above thread) and see what route he choose and how it worked out.

Yes, Tyle comes to Baton Rouge with a coach to showcase at LSU games. He knows the best route. It is generally 59 North to 84W to I-49 south to I-10. That's the way I go and have used it many times.

On our way from Florida to Nacogdoches we stayed at following campgrounds:  Cypress Bend RV Park in Iowa, LA,  Campgrounds of the South in Gulfport, MS,  Juniper Lake Campground in DeFuniak Springs, FL (a ways from the interstate and tight but a helpful owner),  Casey Jones Campground in Lake City, FL and Sun N Fun Resort in Sarasota.

Are you still in Nacogdoches?

We are at FOT, the gold and white rv without a left fender.

Hope this helps.

We took this route in reverse (from Louisiana to Nac) and it was a very easy drive.  I-49 is nice and 84 is a nice road with a small shoulder.

Thanks for the suggestion.
