Post by: prevostart on April 02, 2015, 11:26:33 pm
Coach has been sitting for a while have been to busy to use so I recently changed oils filters on Cummings and gen, getting antsy to run it down HWY, Tonight I fired up Aqua Hot- Generator- Cummings all good Butt!  Now on HWH Leveling Push Level Button and all lights light up even a batt light comes on but no action it's in travel mode but that's it . It has 600 series unit I pulled off cover to control box and looked in it looks like old technology 2 boards and fuses I checked fuses good pulled unit out to see it better pulled off some of plugs re set back in went back inside and it works now put box back it and it failed again pulled out box again and looked at connections now it works for now. Does HWH still sell that box or is there an up date for It ? I have a pretty good set of drawings  What to Do ? Thanks  Art 1996 U320

Sounds like a bad connection. Several years ago I bought a new hwh box for our 98, which had the same box as yours. I think that you can also send it in to get rebuilt

The HWH manual indicates that if all the lights come on the microprocessor is bad and the control box should be replaced. I had that problem a while back. I sent the box to HWH. They repaired it. I was surprised at how inexpensive the repair was.

It is starting to look like the control box on ours is bad... neither the Travel Mode light, nor Master Warning Light (Level Light on the dash warning light panel) come on. How quickly did they turn your control box around? Hearing all the stories about weeks between contact and response of their tech support has me concerned!

I wonder if it's a power issue. Here's a quote from the manual:
Quote
Whenever the ignition switch is "ON" one of these lights will be lit
but never both at the same time. If neither light is on, check the
power to the control box. The yellow wire in the power harness will
have +12 volts with the ignition in the "ON" position. The red wire
should have +12 volts with the ignition in any position. If the yellow
wire has power replace the control box. If not, trace the yellow wire
to its source.

Regarding HWH turnaround, the whole deal took a couple of weeks but most of that time was shipping. I called, got a reference number and mailed them the box. I think the issue with untimely or no response from HWH is probably tech assistance as the repair process worked fine for me. Good luck.

Don, you could just drive up to Iowa. Probably take less than two weeks, round trip.  I just made an in their shop service appointment for three weeks out, just when we will be going by on our way to Hastings.  They ate just off I80 and have hookups right there.  We needed some air control valve for deflating the seal and they replaced the whole thing with a factory rebuilt one for 1/3 the price of a new one, same warranty, and they had them on hand.  Stopping this time for a health and wellness check (leak check).  They will identify any leaks they find of any kind or source and fix those on their systems.  At 14 years old our coach has a few, I am sure.  Roger

HWH is located at Exit 267 off I-80, they have also solved a small issue for me, price was much less than expected, all happy on my side.  Call them, make appointment 563-724-3396.

Would love to go there... 1886 miles without ride height control (other than eyeballing) seems a bit unwise however. On my must do list when we go northeast again though. I would love to have HWH put our coach up on their rack and tell me where all the leaks are. Maybe next year... It looks like their area code has changed. I called the numbers in the manuals and don't even get a voicemail. I also just called the number below (thanks Dave) and it just rings. Good Friday, I suppose...

Sometimes rebooting a computer solves problems. You might try removing the power connection and reconnecting.
Nothing to lose.
