Title: Drinking water spigot
Post by: stump on April 11, 2015, 11:10:29 am
In my 91 I need a rebuild kit for the drinking water spigot. It leaks some on the counter when I use it. Do any of you know where I can get the parts and or what brand it is?

Have you tried taking it apart first to see problem, as it may just be an O ring or such that needs cleaning.??

Mine leaked, lever up for stream, or down for momentary water.  I never found parts or anyone saying they rebuilt one.  I got another on line, and swap all the counter mounted thing for a new one.  I only had to cut the old brass end off the filtered water line, and use the new compression parts in the new unit parts.

Best part,  is the new unit is a faucet action, to control flow.  Also the new spout swivels to fill a coffee pot or pan sitting on the counter top.

Consider a new faucet instead of rebuilding:
GE Single-Handle Water Filtration Faucet in Chrome for Filtration Systems-UNF... (http://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-Single-Handle-Water-Filtration-Faucet-in-Chrome-for-Filtration-Systems-UNFCTBL/204767492?N=5yc1vZbtys)

This was exact fit for mine...good quality too. Shurflo 15-045-02 Single Drinking Water Faucet, Chrome (http://www.rvupgradestore.com/Single-Drinking-Water-Faucet-Chrome-p/86-8078w.htm)

The facet can be rebuilt though..or just have it adjusted and replace orings.

Thanks guys for doing the leg work finding a replacement.  I have looked a time or two but never came up with these two options.  My faucet has leaked since the day I bought the RV over 5 years ago.  I have replaced the  o-rings a couple of times but apparently the barrel where the o-rings seat is corroded and it keeps chewing up the rings.  I will replace my faucet within the week.

I love this forum!

For what it is worth, there is a tool made just for resurfacing the o-ring seat. I inherited one when my father passed away but have ne ver had the occasion to use it.

correct on the seat resurfacer tool and can be bought at any half decent plumbing store. Only a few bucks and nice to have if you want to reseat any valve face on a myraid of water valves in a home. If you do not like to fix things there is the easy way out and buy new, but that is no fun!!
