Our coach has Balance Masters on steer tires which are being replaced next week at Herman Powers. The Balance Master website says NOT to balance new tires that have their product installed. Do any of you with Balance Masters balance your new tires?
Mike,
Not Balance Masters, but our coach had Centramatics installed at all 4 corners when we purchased it. I believe these utilize a similar technology. The prior owner had them installed, and he said the (local tire store) installer just bolted them on without removing the existing weights from the wheels. PO said it worked fine for him, and we have certainly been happy with the total lack of vibration since we have owned the coach.
I'm guessing it probably wouldn't hurt anything if you have your new tires balanced.
On the other hand, the balancer manufacturer should know what works best, so if they say mount new tires without weights perhaps that is what you should do. You will find out soon enough if they are giving you good advice!
Thanks, Chuck. Makes sense
On my big truck I balance all new tires then the centramatics keep them up the life of the tire.I run super single drive tires and sometimes they will take a lb of weight to get in balance each.the centramatics can maintain the balance once it's balanced.I would balance just in case you happen to have one needing a little more weight than the centramatics csn manage.
This is just my opinion (and you know what people say about opinions) I purchased centramatics for one of my Semi's years ago and after 50K miles or so took them off because I didn't think they worked. (again just my opinion) So having said that I would get the new tires balanced...
Thanks for the replies. We'll probably get them balanced.
