Title: PowerWatch Bulbs
Post by: jor on April 20, 2015, 06:30:11 pm
So how the heck do you replace the bulbs in the old Powerwatch unit? I removed the back, pushed the bulb holder out the front but I can't see how to remove the bulb. The red and green plastic domes are held in place with thin metal rings which in turn are held in place with four small tangs. I can pry them up but they are likely to break. My unit works fine; just wanted brighter lights.

PS: Steve, thanks again for the drag and drop. Makes posting photos a pleasure.

Jor,

You replace the hole assembly wires and all. If you try to take them apart you will have a bunch of broken pieces.  Do you have the replacement bulb numbers?

Ahhhhhh... Sure could use the number. I can see they are made in Mexico and labeled Jem-Glo but don't see the number (old eyes). Thanks.

Allied has recently changed there part numbers but you can use either number on there site to find them    Allied Electronics - Industrial Automation & Control Products Distributor (http://www.alliedelec.com/)    Use this link and just type in the allied part #

Replaced the bulbs. Love that nice bright green light. I have no use for the Powerwatch but it's great to have it working as it should. Both bulbs totaled about six bucks - $21 by the time they added handling and shipping. Money well spent I say!
