I'm interested to see who's seen this done before...
A member has one for sale, they had a fire with the generator..
A pretty novel idea IMO if your facing too much wrong with the complete mechanics of your coach..
Do you pull this around with an 18 wheeler ? ... A one and a half ton truck?

Mark, the link you have didn't work for me just now. This was thoroughly discussed some time ago, and as I remember (usually not very well) the general consensus was that this was a very good way to waste a large amount of money.
If you have ever seen a 5'er frame, especially one of the heavier ones like DRV, you will see that it looks nothing like what a Foretravel looks like underneath. Just making the "foundation" would be quite expensive, and then you would still have to figure out the hitch.
As for your question about a tow vehicle, I would guess that you would need at least something like an F550. Many people with the heavier 5'ers use a converted semi for a tow vehicle. Some of them even carry a SmartCar on the truck.
I think if I was going to turn our coach into a trailer (loss of engine/transmission, for example) I'd probably find a lowboy trailer of the proper length and mount it on that. Since the drivetrain would all be gone from the coach I'd be able to put that part where the tires are on the trailer. Some sort of method of attaching the coach to the trailer would have to be engineered.
Thanks KB.. i was trying to load the link too.. it is defunked I guess..
I did save the link when it was alive, and I guess my cookies are holding the small pictures offered, but when you click on them, there is nothing that appears.. the trailer idea is pretty good.. three axels would take a lot of weight from the tow vehicle..
