Title: Maritimes Motorcade
Post by: David Bethard on May 11, 2015, 09:36:41 am
I have pictures from the last Maritimes Motorcade in 2010 posted on my website. If you're going on the trip this year give it a look.

Beautiful country and the people are wonderful, hope it hasn't change. Should be a lot of fun!

For the most part the campgrounds were fairly level and not problem however there were a few in Newfoundland with some sites requiring leveling blocks. Do not show up at a campground early, stay on schedule, things go much smoother.

Lots to see and explore on your own as well as group activities.

Nice photos David. We are going on the Maritimes Motorcade this year. Been looking forward to doing it for some time. Talking to Beverly Koonce she mentioned there were some cancellations and they don't have a waiting list to fill in. If anyone is interested in going on this once and a lifetime trip , give her a call quick. She opened it up to SOB's but none have joined. I would hate to see this one cancelled as in some past motorcades because they did not have enough people going.

Nice photos. I looked thru a few of your galleries. Well done.

I hope the motorcade goes off.  I would love to take one but it is too long and too far out of touch for too long.

We made the trip a couple of years ago on our own. Very nice trip, we made it up to Cartwright Labrador. Did over 10,000 km in Newfoundland, the more small villages you visit, the better it gets.

Edit....Highly recommended, if you try to compare it to Alaska, don't. It is totally different geographically, and, in our opinion, the people are much nicer. After working in Norway for many years it was like going back.

Sounds as if it will be an outstanding experience! Wish we could go . . . .

David, those are some lovely composures.  Thanks for posting the link!

Looks like there was quite a variety of wildlife to see on that trip.  And those tides are so dramatic, hard to imagine living in that type of environment.

This is something to really look forward to when the time comes.  I sure hope these motorcades are still going strong twelve years from now!
