What is the big red light in the middle of the dash on a 1990 Grandvilla? It comes on when I start her and it does not go off.
Thanks!
Susan
photo of my dash attached. Red button in top center.
On my 89 280 that red lite indicates low air pressure.... goes out when tanks air up.
Dub,
My air pressure gauge says my pressure is good. There is also another light on the dash for light air.... even says light air pressure on the button. Could it be a leak or some other indication related to the leveling system?
Susan
The second red lite and a lot smaller on your 280 will be ride height indicator..lite on means improper ride height..
Your gauge is much more reliable than the low air warning lite... That warning lite comes on when air pressure gets to 60 psi on my coach.. that will vary on different rigs. A lite wont indicate a leak until a leak causes the air pressure to fall low enough... If your low air indicator lite stays on after your tanks fill you have a sending unit issue for the lite.
I have never seen a "light air pressure" light on trucks or motor home..seems I will be learning something new to me.
Just now saw the picture... That's going to be your ride height indicator Susan... Beside the drivers seat on the floor there are 3 levers... all three in the center position and you can feel center when moving each lever... that puts the airbags at travel height... then I bet your red lite goes off when the coach is aired up. Have her on fairly level ground when checking. Ride height off by much can cause drive line problems..
Red light on our GV is Jack down.
A 280 has air bags not jacks.
What is a ride height indicator?
It indicates your coach has the right amount of air in the bags to have the chassis level for travel.. High or low throws the drive shaft out of line and that can cause serious issues... When you park on level surface and have all 3 levers in center position the lite will go out and you are ready for travel.. Again when checking this have the coach running and system aired up.
