I started my engine and did some pre-drive checks before taking her into the shop for my fluid service and all was well. After shutting it down I found a small plume of smoke coming from a tar like substance on the top of my engine (CAT 3208TA) on a part that I had no idea what it was, thinking the tar was some of the black adhesive from my under bed insulation I though nothing of it. The next day she would not start :o . Plenty of crank over but no fuel. So I check the fuel filters, prime the fuel...nothing. So onto the forum I go.... I find a topic on the Fuel shut off-solenoid?? mmmm what is that?? After finding a picture I know that it looks just like where I found that little plume of smoke the day prior. A quick stop at the local CAT Dealer with one in hand......$140 later and about 4 minutes of labor on my part she is running smoothly once again. Easy easy fix!!
