Title: HWH Six Pack Solenoid
Post by: jor on June 07, 2015, 10:31:39 pm
As others have done, I'm going to replace the two valve body O-rings on each of my rear solenoids. I've read Steve's and others' write ups but have a question. Once you remove the outer nut and the solenoid housing what tool do you use to unscrew the valve body from the housing? Channel locks? Little chain wrench? Which is easiest, working from the bottom up or top down? Thanks.

Use the channel locks.
clean up the surface and use plumbers grease on the new o rings.

I used channel locks and a vice grip to unscrew them. But someone just sent me a link to a tool to use. NOS 16666 NOS Nitrous Solenoid Wrench  NOS Nitrous Oxide Solenoid Wrenches 16666NOS - Free Shipping on Orders Over... (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/nos-16666nos)  I was told the "O" Ring is #019. The other 2 are are #015 & #028
