Title: Suggestions for Northern California Services for Our Foretravel
Post by: Paul Smith on June 10, 2015, 11:03:12 am
Good Morning!

I send a punch list to R Mechanic in Livermore, CA yesterday and they replied they are not taking any appointments at this time.

These are the fixes I planned:

1. Inspect Bulkheads
If repairs needed see rhe following:
BULKHEAD REPAIR - drainage around box beam? (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=24879.new;topicseen#new)
Note the stainless steel thru bolts and 1/4 in thick washers. Also, the recommendation is thru bolts 1 ft apart.

2. Redo the "Third Valve" connection so the access door may be closed when the waste drain is connected to the Third Valve (I didn't see this error until I got the RV home)

3. Service the generator

4. Repair arm on driver's seat. (Remove seat from RV, weld arm on, return seat to RV.)

5. Annual service AquaHot (R Mechanic rebuilt the AH in January and we used it a lot in SKP Park Sierra last Winter)

6. Replace lower part of rear ladder.

On the other hand I'll entertain offers in liew of me finding someone to do the above tasks.

best, paul

Perhaps you should talk with Lawrence Cowan at Sacramento Truck Center.  They have six bays dedicated to busses/RVs/and Fire Equipment repair.  916- 286-2068  I believe they can handle everything on your list.  Double check on the Aqua Hot service.  They are smart folks there.

Thank you very much Bob & Cindy! I'll check them out.

I much prefer to offer the new owner a problem free FT.

It appears "California Truck Centers, LLC" has several truck centers in CA:

Fresno Truck Center

Bakersfield Truck Center
Delta Truck Center

Sacramento Truck Center

Golden Gate Truck Center (its in Oakland close to us!)

Do you have any reason to believe the truck center in Oakland would not be as capable as the Sacramento Truck Center?
