Title: Passenger Seat Footrest Repair Update
Post by: Yetch on June 12, 2015, 01:16:48 pm
I have completed replacing the old gearbox and worm gear for the powered footrest of the right passenger seat.  New gearbox/start gear was obtained from Villa International,  Mike Ramerez, 562-404-8111.  Price was around $60.00.  No original replacements available, but he does have a unit that works.  New gear has a slightly different gear ratio, and when installed in the original mounting position, the footrest will not extend fully, by about 2 inches.  It works, but just not quite to the original extension spec.  I fashioned an extension mount to place the gear assembly forward to allow proper extension of the footrest.  Aluminum bar stock was used.  This also allows for more buffer on the worm gear when fully extended.

Included are photos.

Nice job Mike. I was afraid he might not have the original part because when mine went out he was down to one left. Can you take a picture of your seat fully extended so I can compare ours. Thanks in advance.
