Title: windshield wiper goes too far
Post by: Larry Rubin on June 20, 2015, 08:39:32 pm
The wipers themselves are tight on the spindles but when used at about 60 MPH or above, the wind pushes the driver side wiper beyond its normal stop.  The bottom of the wiper hits the rubber at the base of the windshield.

I guess this can be corrected by some adjustment to the wiper motor arms and the connection to the wiper spindle.  (I'm not looking forward to removing the dash in that area but will have to.)

Anyone have any experience in this?  (2004 295)

I am vaguely recalling a recall on the wiper motor stop issue.  You might ask "the Google"

ETA - I just did, and found it on Barry's site Windshield Wiper Recall (http://www.beamalarm.com/Documents/recall-2004-windshield-wiper.html)

Thanks -- mine was built in October 2003 so may not have this problem  (recall is for units build February to August) but I'll check with Foretravel.
