I found a welder at a Truck Lief Spring Manufacturer. He did a terrific job in welding the pieces together. He welded a reinforcing piece around the bolt hole so the bolt hole has twice the thickness. I did not get a chance to measure the shock extended length but I know they were the correct shocks numbers for this coach. The previous 3 breaks on the other side were on the original Koni adjustable shocks and these are the FXD's. I did a rough measurement of the ride hide while on his concrete pad. It was about 8 1/4"
Started our touring in Frederickton NB. We visited the Historical Village Kings Landing King's Landing - Historical Settlement (http://kingslanding.nb.ca/en/) everyone in period costumes and making things the way they did back then. Quite Interesting. We moved to Moncton yesterday and I had my 1st Parking duty assignment. Went on a boat tour and had a lobsta dinner after he explained everything you want to know about the process of catching and eating the lobsta.
Sounds like you are having a nice trip with all your maintenance too.
Barry, lobsta, yum, & did you know they have a very interesting life before we get to eat them? I have a friend at Boston University marine bio lab, a top authority on lobsta social behavior, the critters have the most interesting way of life, including human-like behaviors, even in the way they court one another, flirt, & breed! :o (no details here or I'll get censored :)) ) ....I saw the movies, 1st time I ever heard about pheromones......amazing...anyway, they're nonetheless delish after they go the 'The Great Beyond' & we get 'em!
Sounds like a great trip so far....keep the travelogue coming! Glad things are settling down with the coach.
We were at King's Landing in 1979. Glad to see that it is still there. Roger
