Coming back from Little Rock I noticed the Dash air would blow and then all the air would come out the defrost vents on top and then would go back to the Dash vents. After looking under the step I found the Pump had the hose half way broken off which goes to the small canister. Not fixable (Tried to JB weld no go) Found one on EBay but different wire connections. Appears to be a Ford Hella product. Same as described in Beam Alarm except for the connections. Apparently these are hard to find. This morning I noticed when I turned the key on that I could hear the pump running all the time. Before as soon as the vacumn was filled it would cut off. Easy to get to but just another thing to fix.
Do you have it wired through the switch like the first pump was?
Does it continue to run if you pinch off the hose (i.e. make sure there is no vacuum leak causing it to run)?
If pinching causes it to shut off, then look for a vacuum line loose or bad vacuum motor.
Brett: Tks for the reply. Actually the small round part which the hose connects to the pump just broke off leaving the hose open.
No pressure could built up; therefore no action to open the dash air vents. Found one on Ebay, the power connectors are different but the rest appears the same. Now I am waiting on new (1) Hinges for the comode seat (2) Battery Isolator (3) Vacumn Pump for dash air. Checked fluids today and all OK. Cleaned entire inside. Plenty to do. DAN
