Noticed this on the local Craigslist. Not sure if it is the same one that was on it a few months ago.
1991 FortTravler Grandvilla-Road trip ready (http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/rvd/5114297495.html)
Mark
This one could last a long time. It is identified in the listing as a FortTraveler!
Trent
It just gets better and better.
It only has 14,700 miles and they are only asking $12,995.
But, if that's not enough, FINANCING IS AVAILABLE
Trent
That is the seldom seen (or heard) French Canadian spelling of the company name - the "T" and the "er" are silent. 8)
Chuck,
Let me see if I can read between the lines:
For
tTravel
eror, in English:
For Travel
Okay, thanks for the history lesson,
Trent

Appears to be a business.. in the business of selling campers?
Lot's of stuff for sale under that phone number...
I sent them an email questioning the mileage.. :) no response yet..
Umm let's see.
Cheap price?
Way unusual low miles ?
Financing ??
If they say that they will ship it to you, can't get more pictures cause it's in storage and they are in the service... RUN they other way. 👎
Robert.
I have been watching prices on Grand Villas for a few months. I use SearchTempest to search all Craigslists. That particular one originally was listed for $8995 for a couple of days, then jumped to $15995, and about April 17th it wandered down to $12995. This one has an odd living room layout. I am betting ancient tires and way overdue for services. I think there are better units in that price range.
I have no personal experience with Foretravels and have never seen this one (or any one) in person. In case your wondering, my wife and I are about a year out from buying a GV, with the plan to full-time once we retire in a little over 4 years. Until then I just lurk on the forum and read ads.
Lot of hours on the gen. Either sat in one spot or has more miles than shown. Anything is possible I guess but it is "Buyer be ware" Deal.
They Responded... it's a camper dealership in Jacksonville.. They sell new and used... I would venture to say someone traded it in on a camper and they really don't know too much about it...
they admit it needs new tires.. offer 9500 for it and I bet it could be yours.. it does look very clean.. it wont last long at that price...
"147,000 is the correct mileage. I apologize, the information given to me was incorrect.
Would you like to schedule a time to come in?

and.. another email I just got from them
Dear Mark,

My response, to them with a few questions.. yah.. I'm a newbie and I am probably missing some questions and off on my numbers... :)
Hello Barbara,
Sure, I'd love to know anything you can tell me about your Grand Villa
I see your a camper dealership, new and used... I am in the market for a 1990's Grand Villa.. I was thinking along the lines of mid to upper 90's.. but your unit is intriguing just the same
What information do you have for the Grand Villa?... last service records? dates of full service, oils, fluids, filters, grease, lube, mechanical inspection.
Full service on the coach runs 2000. at the dealership, for the Grand Villa
How long has it been sitting?
How long has it been driven for any good distance?
How often?
Was it a trade in ?
Tire replacement cost will be roughly 3500.
How about the airbags? how old are they? There are 8 of them.. at about 2500 replacement cost for all eight.
Air suspension, air brakes, air tanks pump up ok? slow to pump? 120 psi is required and needs to hold that without leaking.. has the air system been inspected?
Leveler controls work ok? are they manual or computer controlled? If manual, there will be 3 levers on the floor left of the drivers seat.
Does the furnace and hot water heater work in it?
shower, sinks, and toilet function ok?
Has anyone hook up shore power to it and check to see if everything is in working order?
Has anyone hooked water up to the coach and allowed it to sit with pressure on the system for a weeks length of time ? no leaks ?
The Onan Generator has 3900 hours on it.. when was it last completely serviced?
Do the two roof top AC units function and blow cold?
Is the generator powering everything ok?
is the onboard charging system charging the batteries ok?
Can I speak with the previous owners?
Is the coach from the southern states or northern ?
oil leaks? air leaks? water leaks? any leaks at all ?
Any cracks in the windshield?
Do you know if the bulkhead has been inspected? (extremely important)
How old are the three D-8 batteries? Are they holding 13.5 volts plus? Replacements for the Gel cell batteries are roughly 700. each... are the existing batteries gel? or has someone installed acid core?
I am a long drive from you, it would be nice to know this before I attempted a trip to see it.
Thank you
Sincerely,
Mark XXXXXXXX
Good response, Mark! I'd be surprised if they can answer even half of your questions, and I'll bet half of the answers they give you will be B.S.
LOL.. I'm waiting with baited breath.... perhaps I shouldn't hold my breath .. :)
Mark, can't help myself (as usual): "Waiting with baited breath" makes me think you are fishing somewhere cold and are trying to keep your worms warm. >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D
LOL... oops.. BATED !!!!!!!
As long as those worms have some chocolate on them !!! :)
The response to my questions....
The Grandvilla has been inspected by our service team here at Travel Camp, and is in working order.
Whatever that means::) and is worth as much as you paid for it.
Roland
They aren't answering the bulk questions, said that they would not be able to let me speak with the previous owners.. that it was a trade in. I am asking one question at a time now. I asked if they had a stack of service paperwork from the previous owner, they said oh, yes they have all of them. but when I pressed them to scan me the most recent ones, after days and days, they said sorry, we only have the service paperwork written up for what service THEY DID !!!! said their scanner was down, so she snapped photos and send them pdf
I don't know how to share these pictures ...
Interesting, the heater core was leaking... so they just by passed it !!! and then added antifreeze.. but don't state what type of antifreeze.. calipers are remanufactured they installed.. the invoices show their work was done in May of 2015.
I will continue to politely ask more questions.. :)
Oh yah... the motor would not start.. invoice states it was a battery problem and there are melted wires on the motor.
