Title: Current Directv receivers compatability
Post by: Fiddler on July 10, 2015, 06:24:36 pm
Will the most current Directv receivers (Genie?) work with the old Datran 4500 domed roof top in motion TV antenna's?  My old Sony SAT A55 will no longer talk to the Directv satellites so I  need a new receiver; and perhaps may also need new roof top antenna as well?  I understand HD will only work with open antenna's.

Genie has 5 tuners and requires SWM antenna technology, something that your Datran will probably not work Newest Direct HR24 2 tuner receivers will work with any antenna that has a dual-LNB and does not require SWM.

Yes the Datron has Dual LNBF feature.  However,  it's under a dome so do I understand correctly, no HD possible?

They have helped me successfully solve a DTV problem in the past.
