We have a question about leather and wood care in our coach. We have light-colored leather throughout. What is recommended for regular care, both for gentle cleaning and and for keeping the leather supple?
The cabinets are walnut and we like the color, but we want to keep them looking as good as they do now. We have noticed that in the kitchen and bath, sometimes we'll spatter the wood when washing dishes or brushing teeth (whatever). What are others on the Forum using for wood care?
With thanks!
Wood care - searching the forum you'll find many threads referencing Zep Wood Doctor.
For leather, we use Horseman's One Step or Lexol or Murphy's Oil Soap (all these left over from my dressage riding days) for cleaning and conditioning. All are available at Tractor Supply. We no longer have leather in the coach (it's all Ultraleather now), but still use Lexol or Murphy's and microfiber cloths on the leather furniture at home.
Agree with Wood Doctor, good stuff.

Richard and Susan,
For woodwork, light or dark, use Zep "Wood Doctor". It is hard to find; single cans from FOT -- only place I've found, or buy a case of (6) from supercleandirect.com and gift or sub-sell surplus:

For day to day cleaning of fine woodwork, Murphy's Oil Soap is a very good choice. Wash and thoroughly dry.
Thanks very much, everyone, for the good guidance! We would not have known any of those products or procedures, so your input has been a real help.
Zep Wood Doctor! I thought I would share my ZWD experience of yesterday. What a fabulous product, it definitely removed most if not all the stains on the walnut cabinets in our coach. I spent quite a few hours yesterday working my way through the coach, it became extremely addictive. If not for the help of listening to Sting and a little Pink Floyd, I probably would have given up. Although I have to admit that it was hard to stop there are still more cabinets to do. Wood looks like new.
Has anyone ever been able to do all the cabinets at once?? I would like to know...
When I did my wood interior with ZEP it was over a two day period. Tiring enough.
Came out great and its a good way to find where all the hidden switches are located :)
Still working on our cabinets — but thrilled with Wood Doctor!
Where do you buy zep wood doctor, and what is a good price? I could only find to sellers online, and they sell minimums of 3 or 12, with horrendous shipping costs.
I don't remember where I bought it but I could only find it by the case. Check with FOT or MOT for single cans. It's a great product.
ZEP Wood Doctor is hard to find but as many say it works well.
We like Howard Feed-N-Wax. It is a cleaner, conditioner and polish. It has bees wax in it. Easy to get at Amazon or Home Depot sometimes. Our 16 oz bottle will likely last another 8 years, used about 1/3 in four.
Like anything your woodwork will stay looking great for a very long time when you take care of it. Don't wait until it really needs it. Do a section every time you clean. It is not hard, doesn't take long and there is the instant gratification of great looking woodwork.

David Flanagan gave me a tip - store the microfiber cloth you use with Wood Doctor in a Ziploc between uses if it's not too dirty (don't bother washing it). It's already loaded up with product so you'll use less (compared to starting with a clean, dry cloth) next time.
