Three of the eight or so elements in our high center mounted brake light ore out. The fixture looks to be surrounded with caulk or something. How do I remove it? And can it be repaired? Can it be replaced with an LED fixture? Sources?
Thanks, Dick
No help???
Dick
Dick,
No direct help here (wrong model coach) but wondering if there is any way to access the back side of the light unit? Perhaps through a cabinet over the bed? Is there a removable lens on the outside? If there is no rear access, and no lens that pops off, then the only other choice is remove the whole light assembly.
When I replaced our original porch light with a LED light, I had a HECK of a time getting the old light off. Besides several screws, there was also about a pound of really tough caulking material under the light. It took some serious work to cut through it with a putty knife.
Good luck - hope someone else responds with more specific info.
Not wanting to rush in to this, I was finally about ready to call Extreme or MOT to ask for advice. And then........all of the segments started working again. Has worked fine for our last two trips; go figure?!?
Dick
Dick, if we had an 03 I would be able to help but do not so not much good eh?
There has to be a way for it to come off and if you destroy it surely a new one is available online.
