Title: Drinking the Koolaid!
Post by: squeezer on July 17, 2015, 04:02:00 pm
So last year at this time out coach had been up for sale for a few months.

We bought it on a whim 3 years ago before the kids came along...The reality of two little ones kept the coach underutilized for longer than what I would have liked so up for sale it went.

A year later after coming of our first trip longer than a weekend I am very happy a buyer did not appear last year!!!

There are still some changes that will be made to make the interior more suitable to traveling with 4-5 people but let me say that the bones of these things are SOLID.

First and foremost is the chassis performance. In eight days on the road there was not a single time that we were passed on a hill by a Semi or another RV. (There is something to be said for 67lbs/HP.) Even better than the ability to go up at almost any speed you want is the ability to come down at EXACTLY the speed you want. I can not imagine not having a joystick retarder!

(Continuing, was cut off yesterday before having the time to finish)

Going and stopping are important of course but the other little things made our experience fun. Large holding tanks mean not having to deal with doing the full hookup thing at every stop. Simple back in, hit the level button, plug in power and done.  We pulled into a spot about the same time as a "Bounder" of some model and I am sure it took him over an hour to get backed in, leveled, and plugged into sewer/power/water. He was not having fun and neither was his wife. For us this ease of use leads to more use...  The main purpose of this trip was a family reunion. We picked a camp sight less than two miles away from the get together venue and actually drove the Foretravel there everyday so we would have a place to easily change/feed/nap the little ones.  When deciding to do that my wife noted that "We can set up faster than some people can parallel park so why not".

The Aqua-Hot system is another huge plus...  Having warm water anytime from the engine while moving sure beats having to light a propane unit, ditto for the electric element.
