My tachometer has quit working. The rest of the driver's panel is OK.
Replacement or other fix?

Was told that is normal even with less than 50000 miles. It was suggested that we invest in a Silverleaf for the 320 we are purchasing although the tach unit itself can be repaired or replaced.
Several years ago, when my tach quit, I spent several hundred dollars in diagnostics charges between MOT and an Allison Transmissions shop trying to get it fixed. Each said the problem was with the other. Bottom line was that I still had no tach. Rather than throw more money at the old tach gauge, I purchased a Silverleaf VMSpc. That was by far the best solution and I wish I had done it first. I am extremely happy with the Silverleaf.
Now, if I could just think of something clever to occupy that 3"circle of prime real-estate on my dash, I would remove the old dead gauge and fill the spot with something useful.
Good luck,
Richard
Duane, there was recently a post here listing a repair facility for these instruments, a search oughta turn it up.
