Title: Fantastic fan wind-rewind adjust noise
Post by: feg6605 on July 21, 2015, 02:00:24 pm
Does anyone else have recently new Fantastic fans. Ours are constantly adjusting themselves until we turn them off with the speed adjust knob. Asked FT to look at them and they said they were fine. Had one in a leisure Unity for a couple of years and it worked well the whole time we owned it. We're in Mt. and it's not rained for a week, they were quiet until the sun started to hit them and every minute or so they do a quick wind-rewind.

It's probably just me, but I don't understand what "wind-rewind" means?

Also, would be helpful if you could fill in some coach information in your signature.  Makes it easier to answer your questions.

When closed they will start to wind open then stop and wind closed. So they wind a couple turns open and then wind those same turns re.

Sounds like the rain sensors may need cleaning. Take a soft pencil eraser up on the roof, with the lid open, on one corner is a squiggly wire like sensor. If that is dirty, esp. with salty stuff the rain sensor will activate. Clean it with the eraser, then wipe it with alcohol. MAYBE !
