I have read posts (here .... or maybe on iRV2) stating that 2-axle coaches that have 4 air bags (total) do not ride as well (or handle as well) as coaches with 2 air bags "per corner"...... other things being equal. If a particular FT has air bag suspension rather than springs or Torsilastic, will it always be a "2 bags per corner" configuration? Also might there be an advantage, safety-wise, if one bag were to "blow" on the 2-bags per corner configuration?
Thanks for my continuing education. Ed S in Denver.
The older coaches that were on Oskosh air ride chassis only had 2 air bags per axle When foretravel started building the unihome chassis is when they started with the 2 air bags per corner and if one air bag would blow out on a 2 per corner, this would not offer any better results as the other air bag on that corner would also go flat
Thanks, Ron. Appreciate having that info in my "shopping data bank".................... ed s
