I'm heading out in the morning to have power and water reels and a surge protector installed. It may sound strange but I get excited any time I get to make a trip, even when coach bucks are in store. :D
I'm not 'hardwiring' the water reel. I want the flexibly to hook up to water at the pedestal or direct fill.
Where 'in line' is the best place to install the surge protector to get the most benefit?
I just need to stay our of the toy store....errrr....retail store.
I am looking forward to seeing James Brad and Looking West, also there for service tomorrow.
I put mine under the bed and only on the input side for the park power. I wanted the generator side to stay free incase of an issue with it. I have had one in the past. Sure the penny could misfire and cause a problem but I can turn it off.. I would have them put in a separate fill port for the water as the current one fills from the bottom and that is slower then the top. That is one of my next modifications that I want to make.
I don't know how much space you have in the spce t the foor of the bed where the transfer switches are but that is where I put mine. I had do move a couple things to get it where I wanted it. As John S did I put it on the incoming land line side. Likelyhood of a generator problem are much smaller than a mis-wired campground or low voltage. We have been in three campgrounds now where it refused to connect because of wiring errors. On s a State Park in Florida.
If I understand you will just use the hose reel to hold the hose. One hose end connects to the city water supply and the other end of the hose to the coach water system or to a direct fill connection. That should work fine. Make sure you have end caps for both ends of the hose and for all connections to close them when not in use. The direct fill connection to the fresh tank should be as high as you can get it on the tank and the fitting that you connect the hose to needs to have a check valve. If you have to winterize your coach make sure you can drain that line or blow it out with compressed air.
Say Hi to the FF folks for us.

Thanks guys, that is how I'll have them do the surge protector.
I already have a direct water fill in the wet bay at the top of the tank and want the ability to use this or the pedestal connection.
Dang, sounds like a FT mini rally to me! Got to call 'em today & make a date for early October, several little things on the list, so far nothing major....what I'm really looking for is a major reason/excuse (like some updates?) to head back to NAC again in November! :))
