I'm about to place an order on a new Realm, and I was just wondering if anyone here has a Realm? If so, any thoughts about it, either good or bad?
For the rest of you, do you have any thoughts about Foretravel as a company, or anything I should know about? I live in Houston, so I visited the factory recently and was very impressed with what I saw. My impression is it would be hard (if not impossible) to beat the quality of a Foretravel.
I do not think there are many Realm owners yet. I think they have only produced a few of them and this is the first year they are being sold. That said it is a Foretravel house that they have been making forever sitting on a Spartan chassis. They have a great chassis so I think you will have a good coach. In fact, it is something I think will be a big seller for FT.
Us old GV owners don't even know what a Realm is!!!! Have a great day ---- Fritz
Does the Realm have an Allison Transmission Retarder? Don't know if that Spartan Chassis is really spartan...
No Peter, no retarder but Spartan builds a very good chassis. The Realm has the Cummins ISX 15L with 3 position compression Jake brake.
Thinking about the Spartan K3 chassis non use of a retarder and realized like my old Monaco's in 1990 with a 14 liter n14 in it the large displacement engine's jake would be more than needed for slowing down the coach.
15 liters=no retarder needed.
The n14 had a three position jake and I never used all six cylinders at 30,000 pounds back then.
The Spartan man said if someone wanted one they could fit one BTW.
probably unnecessary?
Wonder if any IH-45 owners would post on this here?
I have been sitting at Tiger Run in Breckenridge CO for the last month and have been in several coaches Prevost, new IH 45 and others. If you watch the video that Motor Home Specialist have on the Realm, I think you will be very impressed. The features, the floor plans that are available, I think are the best in the market, at the selling price. I would like to see an IH with the realm floor plans. I think this coach goes head to head with the top of the line Newmars and Tiffins and easily wins. I believe FOT has a real winner. Very impressed that it has a fire suppression system and Tyron safety system to keep the tires on the wheels if you have a front blow out. And 600 hp. By looking on the MHS site you can see that they are selling.
Just my opinion.

Foretravel, as a company, is first rate. After having owned a few other brands (don't ask) over the past 17 years no other company has stood behind their brand like Foretravel. We should have bought one 17 years ago and saved some grief.
No doubt it should be easy to sell many years from now when that day comes. Unless I can figure out a way to 'take it with me'.
That is great to hear! Thanks for sharing.
Please post here after you buy the coach.
Many of us look forward to reading about the new models and current production Foretravels.
I definitely will post some pictures after I get it. Yesterday I put the deposit down, so it's official! I can't wait to become a Foretravel owner!! It is already on the production line, so I think I'll take delivery in about 4 months.
Jeff, that is great news. I looked at one and was very impressed. I think it is going to be a big seller for FT.
Fredi, in the true spirit of the Forum you should fill in the blanks on your profile as it say's you do not own a Ftravel???
Should you need help one day it would speed the process up if one knows of what you talk!!

Jeff,
Congratulations! I have owned Newmars, a Tiffin, and now two Foretravels. The construction of Foretravel appears to be much better based on drivability, lack of noise, and the test of up to four (two of em are ours) young boys often confused with monkeys who try hard to break everything in their paths.
No kidding though, there is tremendous value to be gained by the fantastic people in Nacodoches and on this forum. The number of times these folks have helped me is impressive. If you need route tips, to figure out how to get in when you've locked yourself out, or need to know what an acceptable air loss rate is, this group is always available to help. I've found them to be, no kidding, the most valuable aspect of Foretravel.
