Title: Cleaning the windows after a rain
Post by: John S on August 25, 2015, 09:11:41 am
Well, we had a huge thunderstorm and heavy rain and wind last night.  I got up this morning and used my long handled squeegzy to clean the side windows and the front too.  I just wiped the windows but on the front I used the scrubber fora bit then wiped and the bugs just came right off.  I think I will do the windows after every rain when I am out as they are very clean and no spots.

I have found a heavy dew is just as effective at softening up the dead bugs.  I usually clean our front windows first thing in the morning.

I have started cleaning off the bugs at the end of a days drive and they are easier to clean off and don't build up and make a real nasty job I have also noticed that rain seems to soften them better than regular water, don't know why

We are fans of Rain-X window cleaning products. The bugs don't seem to be as hard to remove with a Rain-X coating on the windshield the bugs are stuck onto. This forum has a professional vehicle detailer's window polishing sequence that I use. You can probably find it by doing a search.
