Well I did something really silly. Our manual Zip Dee patio awning has been hard to put up in travel mode- usually I had to have Karen pushing one of the side arms to help me get it up. I lubricated all the awning arms, but it still was sticking and hard to retract.
So I broke down and went to Zip Dee's instructions and found that I am supposed to lubricate the roller ends also about every 3 months ( haven't done it in 7.5 years). Got out the good old Corrosion X- lubed both ends of the roller and worked it in a few times.
I went to put up the awning this morning and when I started rolling it up, I was so glad I had a hold of it, put the tool on the end of the pull down and it rolled up by itself, very easy.
Karen and I stood there laughing as the awning now is working the way it should be since I broke down, read instructions, used Corrosion X. How silly can it get? Reading instructions...................... ^.^d
I'm very proud of you, Ted!
It takes a real man to admit, on a public forum, that he read the instructions.
On your behalf, I will acknowledge that you waited 7.5 years, so you can keep your manhood certificate. ;D
