Title: Speedometer Sensor Type
Post by: Gerry Vicha on August 29, 2015, 08:24:56 pm
Does anyone know what type "Sensor" is used on a 1994 U300 with 6V92 Detroit and Allison transmission?  Three Choices

1)  Hall-Effect
2)  Inductive
3)  Electronic Control Box

I'm installing a new speedometer head and it is not functioning for speed or odometer readings.  THANKS. ???

Original  VDO  - I just found a "programming" sequence I may need to follow.  Hope it works.

The VDO programing instructions worked well when I adjusted the calibration on our 1995 U320.

Dave, which programming method did you use?  1) drive a Measured Mile or 2) enter a ratio code?

Mine was already calibrated but wasn't quite accurate. I looked at.the ratio code formula and.then adjusted the calibration value.
