Title: Need Help With Maybe A Circuit Breaker
Post by: Travelin' Man (RIP) on September 08, 2015, 04:50:22 pm

Today the Girard awning has no power to it and the auxiliary compressor won't come on.

I cannot find a 12V fuse or anything that is labeled for either device.

Can someone give me a steer to find them?

Girard awning is 120 Vac - look for a breaker at the foot of the bed.  Check your schematics to see which one, ours is #1 in the inverter-powered subpanel (the panel without a cover).

Also, IIRC it's interlocked with the coach leveling system - won't move if coach isn't level.

Girard definitely 110. On mine if wind gust threshold is exceeded, I have to switch breaker in panel off and back on to reset and then it will work again. Mine is on inverter panel, not main panel

Thank you guys & gals.

I never thought about the Girard running on 120VAC.  Shouldn't it have run on the inverter,
if the coach is level?

I found an inline fuse for the compressor, removed and replaced it as it wasn't blown.
Then I started the compressor using the pressure switch contacts and it ran fine.  There
are a couple of water traps in the line as well as a desiccant bead filter.  The beads are
pink and need replaced and the traps have a lot of condensation and a bit of water.
Upon going back in the coach the slide-out bladders worked perfectly, meaning the
compressor was working properly.

Breaker for awning was tripped.  Easy fix.
But not so sure about the compressor.

There is no breaker labeled "awning" in my rig.  It's on the bedroom circuit apparently
because I shut it off to pull the wires out of the receptacle when removing the cabinet base.

Thanks Ya'll.
