Anyone know what the torque spec is on a 98 8.3 Cummins (in a FT)? Also, as I understand it, those engines are mechanical and the VMSpc won't work with them. Have I got that right? Thanks.

"Rumor" has it the last C8.3 engines were built in 1997, but they were still being installed in 1998 model motorhomes by several manufacturers.
IF the 8.3 in a '98 Foretravel is a 325 HP "C" engine (mechanical), then I found this tidbit on another forum:
"...my 1998 Monaco Dynasty has one . It is a 325 HP, turbo charged, C8.3, 950 lb ft torque at 1400 RPM. It is the mechanical fuel injection, 12 valve engine. It has the same specifications as the fire truck engine."
We have the 1997 C8.3-325 in our coach. That engine is "so mechanical" that we implemented a temporary fix of the throttle system with baling wire while on the side of the road in Alaska!

I am not aware of any engine data that would be available to VMSpc. The only sensors on our engine are oil pressure, rpm, coolant temperature, manifold pressure, and exhaust gas temperature. The sensors only supply analog data. The manifold pressure and EGT are "after market" gauges that are part of the Banks Stinger package.
See the PDF I attached. Dyno plot has it all.
Chuck, JD and Krush,
Thanks. Just what I was looking for.
